Bacon and Egg Bunless Burger
Bacon and egg bunless burgers are the ideal solution for an easy lunch. The lettuce leaf acts as a bun, holding the contents of the burger inside whilst you chomp on the crispy exterior.
A while ago I travelled to New Zealand, and to my delight, Carls Junior sold these low carb burgers. I wish I could tell you that I walked right past, ignoring the temptation of fast food… but it really won me over, I HAD TO TRY IT.
Sure enough, the lady behind the counter giggled a little at me… I’m 196cm tall, relatively lean, and I’m worried about the carbs on the bun of a hamburger. BUT THIS IS THE WHOLE PROBLEM!
Most people say “Oh, why are you doing keto? You don’t need to lose any weight”. I usually say something about how I’m just trying it out, seeing if it improves my moods, mental capacity and general food craving stability. Little do they know that I have a lot of prior experience up my sleeve 😉
Change For The Better
FatForWeightLoss is going through some changes, and I’m really liking it! My goal is to make these recipes easier for you so that weight loss becomes effortless.
This week’s recipes will be staring bacon and eggs, heavy cream, lettuce and red cabbage (not necessary, but make for some wicked colour combinations).
I’m eating these for lunch during this week, and will combine the recipes together in a blog post so that you can do the same!
Fewer Ingredients, less waste!
Nobody likes recipes that require hundreds of different ingredients just to make it taste like “The Real Thing”.
On top of that, no one likes it when they have to buy all of those different ingredients, only to throw them away a week later because none of the other recipes required any of the same ingredients.
I’ve done the fancy cheesecakes, and decadent desserts, and as much fun as they are to make and share with your friends, I’m not sure anyone would have actually made them…
Finding simple ideas for ingredients that you already have is what I strive to turn my website FatForWeightLoss into. A helpful resource to aid in simple ketogenic nutrition without all the complications and associated costs.

Bacon And Egg Bunless Burger
- 2 Lettuce Leaves
- 3 Slices Bacon (100g / 3.5 oz)
- 2 Eggs Fried
- 1/2 Cup Red Cabbage (50g / 2.2 oz)
- Cook the bacon and eggs, cut each lettuce leaf off at the stalk and place the ingredients inside. Wrap together and eat with keto confidence!
