Xanthan gum is a thickening agent, but in most of my recipes, its used as a binding agent.

If the recipe calls for 1/2 tsp Xanthan Gum, you have a few options:

  1. Gelatine Powder – Use 1 teaspoon
  2. Agar Agar – Use 1 teaspoon
  3. Guar Gum – Use 1 teaspoon
  4. Ground Chia Seeds – Use 1 Tablespoon
  5. Psyllium Husk Powder – Use 1 Tablespoon

I hope this helps 🙂
