Xanthan gum is a thickening agent, but in most of my recipes, its used as a binding agent.
If the recipe calls for 1/2 tsp Xanthan Gum, you have a few options:
- Gelatine Powder – Use 1 teaspoon
- Agar Agar – Use 1 teaspoon
- Guar Gum – Use 1 teaspoon
- Ground Chia Seeds – Use 1 Tablespoon
- Psyllium Husk Powder – Use 1 Tablespoon
