Asian Steamed Chicken with Greens
Asian Steamed Chicken with Greens is one of the first recipes that I concocted years ago with chicken. Once I realised that you could steam chicken in a vegetable steamer, alongside other vegetables, I made this recipe so many times as an easy go-to meal.
Asian Steamed Chicken with Greens utilises sesame seed oil and ginger with shallots, which give it its Asian style. Here in Australia it’s hard to get a bad Asian restaurant, so we generally eat take away Asian. The only problem is that it usually contains epic amounts of sweet sauce or beds of rice.
This recipe easily avoids all of those troubles, as the sesame seed oil mixed with ginger and shallots brings a new life to steamed chicken.
Low Carb Recipes that you can easily make
FatForWeightLoss is going through some changes, and I’m really liking it! My goal is to make these ketogenic recipes easier for you so that weight loss becomes effortless.
This week’s recipes will be staring bacon and chicken, avocado, lettuce, herbs and tomatoes (not necessary, but make for some wicked colour combinations).
I’m eating these for lunch during this week, and will combine the recipes together in a blog post so that you can do the same!
Less Ingredients, less waste!
Nobody likes recipes that require hundreds of different ingredients just to make it taste like “The Real Thing”.
On top of that, no one likes it when they have to buy all of those different ingredients, only to throw them away a week later because none of the other recipes required any of the same ingredients.
I’ve done the fancy cheesecakes, and decadent desserts, and as much fun as they are to make and share with your friends, I’m not sure anyone would have actually made them…
Finding simple ideas for ingredients that you already have is what I strive to turn my website FatForWeightLoss into. A helpful resource to aid in simple ketogenic nutrition without all the complications and associated costs.
If you like this idea, let me know in the comments below. It really helps me when I receive feedback, good or bad!

I’m interested in trying some of your more savory recipes, but am wondering why you are using skinless chicken breast in these recipes, when chicken thighs have more fat and less protein and tons more flavor. By the way, loved your chocolate chip cookies! I’m hooked on Lily’s chocolate chips.

Skinless chicken breast is pretty much the only style of chicken breast here in Australia, and chicken thigh meat isn’t as “confit” -able. If that makes sense?

I hadn’t even though to use my steamer for the chicken, I look forward to it. I don’t mind multi-step dishes or a bit of time, but it is the dishes that become a problem. Fewer dished in prep and cooking means I am more likely to try a recipe.

Hi Grace,
Simplicity is the key to happiness. Using the steamer is like a fake confit style of cooking, and the chicken doesn’t dry out because its literally being blasted with steam!
Hope you enjoy it 🙂
